What is DRIVEN?
Produced by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) in collaboration with ACT 1 and the Texas Trucking Association Foundation, DRIVEN is part of the ongoing Nothing Without Trucking campaign. This initiative aims to raise awareness among policymakers and the public about the essential role trucking plays in the everyday lives of Americans.
From delivering vital goods during crises to connecting remote communities, the trucking industry is the invisible engine of the U.S. economy. And now, for the first time, its workforce is being celebrated in a cinematic, heartfelt series that captures the grit, resilience, and community spirit that define trucking.
“We believe trucking has storytelling potential that few other industries can match,” said Jeremy Kirkpatrick, ATA’s Vice President of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications. “These stories need to be told not only to celebrate the people who run our supply chains but to ensure trucking has a voice when policy decisions are made.”
Meet the Drivers Behind the Wheel
DRIVEN’s premiere episode introduces viewers to three remarkable individuals whose stories reflect the soul of the industry:
- Roland Bolduc – A seasoned FedEx driver and two-time National Truck Driving Championships Grand Champion. Roland’s success is built on laser-sharp focus, relentless practice, and a deep commitment to safety. He represents the highest level of skill and professionalism in the field.
- Tiffany Hargraves – A single mother navigating the treacherous Dalton Highway in Alaska. Her 24-hour roundtrip to the Arctic oil fields isn’t just a job it’s a testament to courage, independence, and the fierce determination that defines the modern trucker.
- Germany Williams – A driver whose life transformed after earning his CDL. Germany’s journey led to the founding of the South Dallas Driving Academy, a nonprofit that empowers underserved communities by breaking barriers to licensing and career access in trucking.
“DRIVEN offers a rare and powerful look at our industry and our nation through the eyes of the professionals who keep it moving,” said Nikki Thomas, ATA’s Vice President of Industry Affairs. “We’re just getting started. There are so many more incredible stories waiting to be told.”
More Than Just Drivers: A Whole Industry in Motion
While the pilot episodes focus on frontline drivers, DRIVEN will soon widen its lens to showcase the vast and interconnected ecosystem behind every successful delivery from dispatchers and mechanics to logistics coordinators and safety professionals. This intricate web of roles forms the backbone of America’s supply chain and this series will show how each thread is woven together to keep the nation moving.
